About Dr Adebayo Adeyemi
Outside his work, Dr Adeyemi is a devoted father who loves spending time with his family. He enjoys walking, playing and watching football. He is also a keen follower of basketball, tennis and formula one sport.
Dr Adebayo Adeyemi relocated to Australia from USA in 2002. Started his obstetrics and gynaecology career in Australia in Royal Darwin Hospital where he worked for many years. He moved to Canberra in 2006 for his post graduate specialist training. He underwent extensive further studies in obstetrics and gynaecology in busy tertiary centre including Canberra Hospital and St George Hospital in Sydney.
Dr Adebayo Adeyemi and his family has never left Canberra since they moved there in 2006, making them a real local.
Dr Adebayo Adeyemi has acquired extensive experience in open, laparoscopic and vaginal gynaecological surgery in his many years as a specialist. His extensive training has given him wide experience in treatment of common gynaecological conditions such as Endometriosis, Fibroid Uterus, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), Heavy Periods, Vaginal Prolapse and Urinary Continence Problem
He kept himself up to date with latest modern available management for common gynaecological conditions. He can offer women of Canberra the most suitable options for treatment depending on their individual needs. The options of treatment range from minimally invasive endometrial ablation treatment for heavy menstrual period, hysteroscopic device for removal of intracavitary fibroids, to the use of laparoscopy keyhole surgery for hysterectomy.
Dr Adebayo Adeyemi is involved in teaching the junior doctors and fellow consultants on how to do hysterectomy utilising minimally invasive keyhole surgery. He is currently a Lecturer at University of Melbourne and Deakin University, teaching medical students in the fields of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
On a personal level, being a proud and dedicated father of three lovely children, Dr Adebayo Adeyemi knows the importance of support during pregnancy and the miracle of bringing a new baby into the world.
